Estimator & Planner – CNC Programming

About the role

The Estimator & Planner will develop and maintain CNC programs for new and rework parts, ensuring optimal cycle times and surface finishes. Working closely with engineering, machining, and quality teams, this role supports efficient production in a fast‑paced job‑shop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create CNC programs (3‑axis to 5‑axis) using Mastercam, Esprit, or comparable CAM software.
• Optimize tool paths, feeds, speeds, and tooling selections for cycle time reduction and surface quality.
• Interpret engineering prints, 3D models, and customer drawings to generate accurate programs.
• Collaborate with machinists during first‑piece setup and program proofing.
• Maintain a program library, post‑processors, and tooling documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of CNC programming standards across the shop.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of CNC programming experience in a job‑shop or production setting.
• Proficiency with Mastercam, Esprit, or similar CAM software.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
