Transportation Clerk

About the role

The Transportation Clerk provides essential administrative and clerical support to the Director of Transportation, ensuring smooth office operations, accurate record‑keeping, and excellent customer service within the Transportation Department.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain departmental records, attendance logs, payroll documentation, and purchasing files.
• Prepare and update spreadsheets, reports, and tracking documents using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Handle correspondence, respond to inquiries, and provide front‑line customer service.
• Assist with payroll, attendance, and purchasing procedures while ensuring compliance with district policies.
• Support general office functions, including scheduling, filing, and data entry.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or business coursework preferred.
• Minimum two years of clerical, administrative, office management, or customer‑service experience.
• Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
