Substitute Bus Driver – Immediate Opening

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Substitute Bus Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for students. This immediate opening supports the district’s curriculum and extracurricular activities by ensuring students reach their destinations on time.

Key responsibilities

• Obey all traffic laws and mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline on the bus and report any undisciplined behavior to the appropriate authority.
• Keep the assigned bus clean and adhere to the scheduled routes.
• Conduct pre‑trip inspections for mechanical defects and notify the Transportation Director of any issues.
• Discharge students only at authorized stops and transport only authorized students.
• Report all accidents, complete required documentation, and enforce no‑smoking/no‑eating policies.
• Provide responsible leadership during out‑of‑district school trips.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license and a bus driver’s license (or acceptable alternatives as determined by the Board or superintendent).
• Non‑exempt status under FLSA.
• Ability to follow schedules and safety protocols consistently.

Required skills

• Safe vehicle operation and adherence to traffic regulations.
• Basic vehicle inspection and reporting of mechanical issues.
