Substitute Bus Driver for School Transportation

About the role

This position supports safe student transportation by assisting the primary bus driver. The role ensures that children, including those with disabilities, board and alight the bus in an orderly and secure manner, allowing them to fully benefit from the school’s curriculum and extracurricular activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.
• Inspect transportation passes to prevent unauthorized travel.
• Help young or disabled students get on and off the bus safely.
• Ensure students board and exit the bus in an orderly fashion.
• Provide written records of student code violations to the transportation supervisor and school principal.
• Collect and turn over personal items left on the bus to the school secretary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Ability to work effectively with children.
• Willingness to follow directions from the Director of Transportation and other designated officials.
• Commitment to the ten‑month school year schedule.
