Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager ensures that the hotel’s departments have the supplies they need while safeguarding financial integrity and minimizing risk. The role involves continuously researching new products, securing the best quality and price, and keeping the hotel up‑to‑date with market trends.

Key responsibilities

• Follow and apply all Kempinski policies, procedures and code of conduct.
• Maintain professional relationships with business partners and stay informed on latest product trends.
• Collaborate with the Chef to obtain optimal products and prices, reviewing market offers daily.
• Conduct competitive, ethical bidding processes and award business fairly.
• Monitor slow‑moving and dead stock, keeping inventory aligned with operational needs.
• Document and process all deliveries and issues accurately.
• Communicate proactively with all departments regarding matters affecting operations.
• Ensure purchasing areas are secure, organized and clean.
• Supervise, train and motivate purchasing staff; manage hiring, disciplinary actions, evaluations and scheduling.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to talent development, supporting training initiatives and career progression.
• Ability to identify and nurture high‑potential employees across the hotel.
• Experience in facilitating transfers, cross‑exposure and task‑force assignments.
• Proven capability to conduct training‑the‑trainer sessions and develop talent plans.
• Skilled in recruiting and selecting candidates to meet current and future hotel needs.
