Weekend Localization & Interpreting Project Manager

About the role

Day Translations is a global translation and interpreting company offering localized translations, interpretation and outsourcing services. It is looking for a Project Manager for its Localization and Interpretations department, working remotely worldwide on a full-time basis. The role acts as the bridge between clients and freelance translators or interpreters in a fast-paced environment, and suits someone passionate about languages and cultures who wants a long-term career.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate costs and prepare project budgets and quotes for clients
• Coordinate all project phases and predict the duration of each stage within achievable deadlines
• Use tools such as Plunet for time tracking and own projects end to end
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Answer client queries by chat, phone and email on time, report activity in group chats and communicate with peers
• Negotiate deadlines and rates with freelancers from HR freelancer databases and build strong relationships with them globally
• Monitor project status and manage project finances, including budgeting
• Carry out quality checks such as proofreading and final review
• Handle freelancer queries

Required profile

• Experience in project management, business administration and customer service
• Knowledge of localization and interpretation
• University degree in Business Administration, Translations or a related field preferred
• Advanced English (native or C1) and fluency in a foreign language
• Strong organization, attention to detail, prioritization and cross-cultural communication skills
• Full professional commitment during working hours; job stacking and conflicting employment are not permitted

Required skills

• CAT tools such as Smartcat and MemoQ
• Translation management systems such as Trados
