Country Coordinator – UNV (Tier 0‑2)

About the role

The Country Coordinator leads the UN Volunteers Field Unit in Brazzaville, ensuring UNV services are integrated into UN system programmes and partner initiatives. Reporting to the regional manager and portfolio manager, the role drives volunteer mobilisation, partnership management and duty‑of‑care for volunteers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement country‑level volunteer mobilisation strategies aligned with UNV’s Strategic Framework.
• Represent UNV in UN collective planning processes (CCA, UNSDCF, humanitarian response plans) and integrate volunteerism into them.
• Build and sustain partnerships with UN agencies, government, civil society and private sector to identify and forecast volunteer demand.
• Ensure duty of care by coordinating security, orientation, supervision and well‑being support for volunteers.
• Lead advocacy and communications to promote UNV at national, regional and global levels.
• Manage the Field Unit, supervising staff, overseeing the annual work plan and budget, and ensuring compliance with UNDP regulations.

Required profile

• Eligibility: Tier 0, Tier 1 or Tier 2 UNDP/UNCDF/UNV staff as indicated in the vacancy title.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve results, think innovatively and learn continuously, as outlined in the core competencies.
