Groups & Events Director

About the role

The Groups & Events Director leads the hotel’s Group and Event Sales team, ensuring revenue growth, high service quality, and alignment with Kempinski standards. Based in Brazzaville, the role combines strategic planning, team development, and close collaboration with revenue management and marketing functions.

Key responsibilities

• Generate revenue from event and group leads and achieve monthly and annual targets.
• Develop and maintain an accurate event & group forecast in partnership with the Revenue Management team.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve the Group & Events sales strategy.
• Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate the Groups & Events sales team, including onboarding new members.
• Conduct performance reviews, monitor mystery‑shopper feedback, and perform regular competition checks.
• Promote cross‑selling opportunities within the Kempinski and GHA hotel portfolio.
• Identify and develop internal talent, support career plans, and conduct regular training sessions (TTTT).
• Collaborate with Sales & Marketing, Field Sales, and other hotel departments to address peak periods and market challenges.

Required profile

• Proven track record in senior sales leadership within the hospitality industry.
• Strong financial acumen with a focus on achieving budgeted revenue.
• Demonstrated ability to develop talent and foster a high‑performance team culture.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
