Senior Editor - Pharmaceutical Advertising

About the role

Pixacore is hiring a Senior Editor (SrE) for its Editorial Department, a remote, full-time position. The SrE represents the department in internal meetings, reviews creative briefs, estimates and timelines, manages assigned accounts and launches with minimal supervision, and mentors new hires on pharmaceutical advertising mandates.

Key responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of the brand and strategy for each assigned product and clearly interpret client and Medical/Legal/Regulatory requests
• Edit and fact-check copy according to Client, Brand and AMA style, and review the work of other editors
• Represent editorial interests at account status and kick-off meetings and negotiate on behalf of the department
• Maintain the Editorial Style Guide and Master Citation List, use editorial and fact-check checklists, and fact-check all claims with correct citations
• Contribute to training modules on eRouting best practices, permissions and client submission processes
• Keep the supervisor informed of workload, timing and editorial issues, and support colleagues with heavy workloads
• Act as a resource for the Operations/Editorial Director and mentor less experienced staff

Required profile

• College degree, preferably in English, Journalism or Communications
• 3 to 5 years of editing experience in a pharmaceutical advertising agency or a medical publishing house
• Interest in the healthcare industry and the science of pharmaceuticals
• Detail-oriented, organized, with strong language, grammar and communication skills

Required skills

• Superior editing skills and knowledge of AMA style
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and MS Office
• Ability to follow strict guidelines and enforce them with direct reports
