Country Lead – Congo & French West Africa

About the role

Weatherford International is seeking a Country Lead for the Republic of Congo and French West Africa. Based in Pointe Noire, the role oversees regional operations, drives business growth, and manages key client and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Weatherford’s primary representative in French West Africa, building relationships with clients, government officials, and industry stakeholders.
• Develop and execute strategic business plans to meet revenue and profitability targets.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing local team while ensuring compliance with global standards.
• Identify new market opportunities, prepare proposals and expand market share.
• Oversee contract negotiations, pricing strategies and commercial terms.
• Ensure operational excellence, customer satisfaction and adherence to HSE standards.
• Manage the country P&L, budgeting and cost control.
• Collaborate with regional leadership to align country activities with broader strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of oil & gas experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of the French West Africa oil & gas market, regulations and key stakeholders.
• Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex operations.
