Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, deployment, and management of integrated road crash data systems for the EU‑funded Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance project. The role will support West African institutions in building harmonised, interoperable crash data frameworks and evidence‑based road safety monitoring tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems across the ECOWAS region.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection, database management, and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance, and road infrastructure databases into unified platforms.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, data standards, and analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting systems, and road‑safety monitoring tools.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports, and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation, and evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport authorities, police, health agencies, ICT providers, and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, technical training, and capacity‑building activities.
• Support monitoring, reporting, and analytical outputs related to road crash data management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road safety data systems, information systems or transport analytics.
• At least 7 years of experience specifically with crash data systems, data interoperability or road‑safety observatories.
• Proven experience in international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
