Sales Advisor – Oilfield & Industrial Chemicals (Central Africa)

About the role

Baker Hughes is looking for a Sales Advisor for its Oilfield & Industrial Chemicals (CAF) portfolio to lead the commercial growth strategy across Central Africa. The role drives business expansion, develops strategic customer relationships and delivers sustainable revenue growth through technical and commercial solutions, with a focus on Gabon, Chad and Cameroon.

Key responsibilities

• Implement process sales strategies for the chemicals business to grow and identify sales opportunities.
• Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities to meet regional growth targets.
• Lead tendering, bidding, contract negotiations and pricing strategy development.
• Develop and implement sales plans aligned with customers' business plans to build growth in Gabon, Chad and Cameroon, and grow OIC market share in Central Africa.
• Attend customer meetings regularly to lead business reviews and technical presentations.
• Interface with customers and internal teams, providing technical expertise, troubleshooting and assistance.
• Identify customer projects that create new sales growth opportunities.
• Apply value-selling principles, engage customers at all levels and collaborate with technical sales and cross-functional teams.
• Develop country-level business plans and sales strategies aligned with regional objectives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of relevant experience in sales/business development within oilfield and industrial chemicals in Central Africa.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and/or Chemical Engineering preferred.
• Fluency in French preferred.
• Aptitude for building trusted relationships and understanding customer requirements and market conditions.
• Experience working in a safe, environmentally conscious manner.
• Ability to travel to customer sites (up to 20% travel required).
