Programme Policy Officer – School Feeding

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a national Programme Policy Officer to support school‑feeding activities in the Republic of Congo. Based in Brazzaville, the officer will work for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, contributing to the design, implementation and monitoring of school‑feeding programmes that improve child nutrition, school attendance and national system resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Government in developing and implementing school‑feeding policies and programmes.
• Coordinate with WFP country office, ministries, NGOs and other partners to ensure alignment with national nutrition and education strategies.
• Monitor programme performance, collect data, and prepare analytical reports for decision‑making.
• Promote sustainable school‑feeding approaches, including local food sourcing and nutrition standards.
• Support capacity‑building activities for government staff and implementing partners.

Required profile

• National candidate with a university degree in nutrition, public policy, education, agriculture or a related field.
• Relevant experience in programme management, policy development or school‑feeding initiatives.
• Strong understanding of the humanitarian and development context in the Congo.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English.
