Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme (AESPP Boost). The role focuses on developing, deploying and promoting Earth Observation (EO) services and applications that leverage Copernicus data to address climate, environmental and development challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the AESPP Boost proposal and related documentation.
• Design and deliver EO services and applications using Copernicus data and products.
• Support the uptake of EO solutions by African institutions, private sector actors and policy makers.
• Provide technical guidance on early‑warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management, biodiversity and other thematic areas.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange and capacity building between European and African partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in EO, geospatial services, remote sensing or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services, preferably with Copernicus data.
• Demonstrated experience working with African institutions or users is an asset.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese considered a plus.
