Spa & Recreation Manager

About the role

The Spa & Recreation Manager is responsible for overseeing all spa operations and leading the team to deliver an exceptional guest and member experience. Reporting to senior hotel management, the role combines operational oversight, revenue generation, and continuous service improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day spa operations, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards.
• Oversee bookings, payments, consultation processes and maintain high client satisfaction.
• Lead, motivate and develop spa team members and beauty therapists.
• Drive revenue by creating and promoting alternative programmes alongside core fitness offerings.
• Monitor and control departmental budgets, financial targets and cash/security procedures.
• Handle customer feedback to continuously improve services and programmes.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments and uphold brand values and standards.
• Ensure health, safety and COSHH regulations are fully observed.

Required profile

• Proven management experience within the spa or wellness industry.
• Ability to meet and exceed financial targets.
• Strong grooming standards and professional appearance.
• Willingness to develop both self and team members.
• Flexibility to adapt to varied work situations and work independently or in a team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of current spa treatments and relevant legislation.
• Understanding of health, safety and COSHH regulations.
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting and revenue management.
