School Cleaner – Part-time (10 hrs/week)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic cleaner to join our team at Ormiston Meridian Academy. The role is part‑time, covering 10 hours per week during term time and an additional 4 weeks over school holidays, with early‑morning shifts from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Clean designated areas within the academy, ensuring a hygienic environment.
• Perform routine tasks such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming and emptying litter bins.
• Work under the direction of the Senior Cleaner and Finance Director, either individually or as part of a team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a cleaning or custodial role.
• Strong awareness of health and safety responsibilities.
• Eagerness to participate in staff training and develop cleaning expertise.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work early morning shifts.

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic cleaning techniques (mopping, sweeping, vacuuming).
• Ability to manage waste disposal and maintain cleanliness standards.
