Language Specialist Annotator (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Language Specialist to annotate, review, and validate language data for advanced AI and Natural Language Processing systems. The role is fully remote and involves ensuring linguistic accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance across diverse datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Annotate and review text, speech, or conversational datasets, labeling parts of speech, sentiment, intent, and syntax according to project guidelines.
• Ensure cultural and contextual appropriateness of annotated data.
• Develop and refine annotation guidelines.
• Conduct quality assurance and inter‑annotator agreement checks.
• Provide feedback to improve workflows and annotation standards.
• Support multilingual or domain‑specific annotation projects as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Languages, or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in the target language(s).
• Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and language structure.
• Experience in linguistic annotation or data labeling projects.
• Familiarity with NLP concepts and AI workflows.
• Knowledge of corpus linguistics or discourse analysis.
• Multilingual capabilities.
