About the role

We are seeking a Director of Internal Audit to lead the independent evaluation of governance, risk management and internal control systems for Ecobank in Brazzaville. Reporting administratively to the General Director and functionally to the Board Audit Committee, you will ensure that the bank’s processes meet regulatory and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the effectiveness and adequacy of the bank’s governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Conduct regular reviews of procedures governing banking activities to ensure proper risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
• Provide independent assurance on the reliability of information, asset protection and efficient use of resources.
• Formulate recommendations to strengthen internal controls, optimise processes and improve organisational performance.
• Coordinate audit projects, manage timelines and communicate findings to senior management and the Board.

Required profile

• University degree (Bac+4/5) in Management Control, Finance, Accounting or Audit.
• Minimum five years of audit experience in a banking institution or an audit/consulting firm.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations, IIA professional standards and corporate governance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, judgment, negotiation and written/oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage time, coordinate projects and work with senior stakeholders.
• Personal qualities such as rigor, methodological approach, analytical mindset, listening, diplomacy and decisive judgment.
