Business Development Specialist – Heavy‑Weight Express

About the role

As a Business Development Specialist for DHL Express in the Congo Republic, you will drive growth by acquiring new customers for heavier‑weight express shipments (30–1000 kg). You will identify opportunities, propose tailored solutions, and ensure a smooth handover to account management.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities for heavier‑weight shipments across the country.
• Collaborate with Core and Retail Sales teams to win business by leveraging customer and industry knowledge.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline through targeted prospecting, networking, and strategic territory planning.
• Conduct in‑depth customer needs analysis to deliver customized DHL Express solutions that balance network capability, transit time, cost, and reliability.
• Negotiate and close deals to ensure profitable, sustainable growth.
• Coordinate onboarding with internal stakeholders and transition accounts to Core Sales.
• Research market trends, customer sectors, and competitive activity to prioritize target industries such as industrial, automotive, technology, manufacturing, and healthcare.
• Provide market feedback to Product, Pricing, and Marketing teams to support service innovation.
