Civil Engineer – Road Construction & Rehabilitation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead the planning, supervision and coordination of road construction and rehabilitation projects. The role involves managing all civil infrastructure works, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and HSE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and coordinate road construction, haul roads, access roads, drainage systems and related civil works.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and schedules for compliance.
• Supervise contractors, subcontractors, equipment operators and site personnel.
• Monitor progress, budgets and timelines, and prepare regular progress reports.
• Conduct site inspections, quality control checks and ensure HSE standards are met.
• Coordinate surveying, setting out, grading and earthworks activities.
• Verify completed quantities, certify contractor progress and manage procurement of materials and equipment.
• Liaise with project managers, consultants, government authorities and local stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; professional registration is a plus.
• National of the Republic of the Congo.
• Minimum 7 years of civil engineering experience, with at least 5 years in road construction on mining, infrastructure or large‑scale projects.
• Experience in remote or mining environments is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of road construction methodologies, earthworks, pavement design and drainage systems.
• Strong project planning and construction management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Understanding of HSE standards applicable to mining and construction.
