Cisco System Engineer Specialist

About the role

Hiperdist Limited is a multi-brand IT distributor across Africa, and its partners sell, install and implement Cisco solutions such as networking, collaboration, security, Splunk and AI-driven network optimization. As a System Engineer, you will design, plan and optimize Cisco portfolio infrastructures for hardware and software, solve the technical and business challenges faced by partners (resellers), and drive technical and pre-sales support. You will also develop and run country-level plans for partner enablement, account management, workshops and webinars.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Cisco routers, Catalyst 9000 / Meraki switches, wireless controllers and access points
• Implement VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, inter-VLAN routing, OSPF, EIGRP and BGP for enterprise clients
• Configure Cisco ASA, Firepower, ACLs, IPSec/SSL VPN, 802.1X and required integrations
• Deploy Cisco WLAN, QoS for VoIP/video and troubleshoot collaboration tools
• Monitor performance and resolve L2/L3 incidents using Cisco DNA Center, Prime, Wireshark and Syslog
• Manage IOS/IOS-XE upgrades, licenses and hardware lifecycle; produce HLD/LLD, diagrams, IP plans and as-built docs
• Act as technical escalation point and transfer knowledge to client IT teams
• Travel regularly across assigned countries to strengthen commercial presence, partner relationships and pipeline

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (Bac +3/4/5) in Information Technology or a related field
• At least 5 years of proven experience in IT integration
• Prior presales or technical sales engineer experience is a strong advantage
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, with clear presentation and demonstration skills
• Fully bilingual in French and English, written and spoken

Required skills

• Cisco certifications: active CCNA (CCNP preferred)
• Routing and switching, network security, wireless and collaboration
• Automation tools such as Python, Ansible or Cisco DNA Center
