Audio Department Manager

About the role

The Audio Department Manager leads day‑to‑day operations for the production audio team. This full‑time, on‑site role splits time between the shop and live event sites, ensuring equipment is maintained, repaired, and ready for use.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee testing, maintenance, and repair of audio equipment.
• Load and unload trucks safely and manage inventory movement.
• Diagnose equipment issues, track repair status, and coordinate repairs.
• Use company booking software (R2) to log equipment dispatches, returns, and damage reports.
• Supervise and assign tasks to technicians, providing training as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure a clean, organized workspace.

Required skills

• Line array setup and rigging.
• Operation of large‑format digital consoles (Yamaha, Avid, etc.).
• Multi‑way speaker system configuration.
• Dedicated monitor and IEM mixing.
• Equipment testing, maintenance, and repair.
• Safe loading/unloading of trucks and heavy lifting.
• Proficiency with inventory tracking software (R2).
